Why traditional methods don't work

Kids Don't Need
Lectures.
They Need Curiosity.

Most nutrition education for kids focuses on facts, “broccoli has vitamins,” “eat your vegetables, they're healthy.” But kids do not care about facts. They care about what is interesting, familiar, and fun. Many children do not meet daily vegetable intake goals, not because vegetables taste bad, but because they have never had a reason to be curious about them. The villain is not your child. It is unfamiliarity.

Our Approach

From Unfamiliar
to Unstoppable

Our approach to nutrition education for kids starts with curiosity, not lectures. Four stages. One mission, make healthy foods feel like something worth exploring.

01
Discover
Children meet a fruit or vegetable through characters and stories. Little TJ makes broccoli an adventure before a child ever sees it on their plate.
02
Connect
Songs, comics, and experiments create repeated exposure. Familiarity and positive associations build before the eating moment arrives.
03
Experience
By the time they see the food on their plate, it is no longer new. They have read about it, sung about it, and watched their favorite character enjoy it.
04
Choose
Kids select fruits and vegetables on their own, not because they were told to, but because curiosity replaced resistance. Lifelong food confidence begins here.
Why We Exist
"
My mama don't make this at home. I don't know what this is and I'm not going to eat it. If I knew what it was, then I might eat it.

— A student. The moment NutraPlanet was born. 2020

NutraPlanet was founded by Tremayne Saliim, a former school nutrition director with a BS in Nutrition Sciences from East Carolina University. After years working inside school cafeterias across North Carolina, one student's words made the real problem undeniable.

Kids do not refuse vegetables because they are picky. They refuse them because vegetables are strangers. The solution was not better lectures, it was making vegetables familiar, interesting, and worth exploring before kids ever saw them on their plate.

That insight became NutraPlanet, the nutrition education for kids that treats curiosity as the most powerful force in changing what children choose to eat.
